Rutilated Quartz is a transparent quartz stone with naturally occurring yellow titanium "needles" scattered throughout. These needles vary from thin to thick, sparse to dense, and parallel to crisscrossed. It is one of the few gemstones that is desired because of its inclusions, the needle pattern giving each stone its own unique birthmark.
