Domesticated over 10,000 years ago, this ancient grain is the source of an abundance of delicious food. It has been one of the world’s principal cereal crops since the 18th century. There are six classes of wheat, each having a preferred growing season of either winter or spring. This versatile grain is a key base ingredient for many beloved baked and cooked goods, such as bread, pasta, and pastries.

When creating these designs, Michael revisited the beloved hues of the blueberry, which helped to inspire his first collections. The berries get their blue pigmentation from anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant with wonderful health benefits. Along with providing essential vitamins, this versatile berry has the ability to enhance a wide array of baked goods, drinks, and more. The dainty blueberries that peek out during the early summer months are a sign that an abundant harvest is coming.

The narrow long branches of the tree are used to decorate romantic arches during weddings and other ceremonies. The drapery alone of this tree is magnificent. Inspired by one of Michael's sons wedding, he created a delicate collection that portrays how these branches were used to create magical scenery.
