Since 1983, Joanne and Kevin Dowdy have been making beautiful opal jewelry. Their opals are from Ethiopia. The Dowdys use Sterling Silver for the settings, posts, findings, and shanks. The opal from the Wollo Valley of Ethiopia offers a kaleidoscope of beautiful, vivid colors. We purchase the rough directly from the farmer miners, with their income supporting their local villages.
Based in Tucson, AZ, we have been polishing opals since our first journey to the Outback of Australia in 1983.
